Meet Bigleaf’s New West Coast Channel Sales Manager

This week, we’re thrilled to welcome Tim Suman to the Bigleaf team as our new Channel Sales Manager for the West Coast. With experience ranging from telecom sales to Enterprise channel management, Tim will be a valuable resource for our partners and customers alike.

Tim Suman started in the telecom industry in 1999 at US West/Qwest/CenturyLink where he spent over twelve years.  Tim held multiple roles while with the organization and left the company in 2012 as an Enterprise Account Manager.  He won numerous awards during his time there including being a President’s Club award recipient multiple times. 

In 2012 Tim moved to the channel side of the house, where he spent time with companies such as MegaPath, Nitel, and Broadvoice.  Tim was a part of Broadvoice’s inaugural channel team and helped them develop their channel program from the ground up. 

In 2015, Tim decided to leave the traditional telecom corporate world and join the startup company mTusker.  mTusker was creating an ERP for the telecom channel that solved many issues for the channel as it pertains to managing their customer base. The platform was also the first SaaS platform able to be sold by the traditional telecom channel.  At mTusker, Tim was responsible for all of the company’s direct sales, as well as channel development and sales.  He spent time engaging with partners, SMB clients, and investors. 

In 2017, Tim chose to re-enter the telecom space as a Global Account Manager with Cogent Communications where he attained 130% of plan and was named a President’s Club award recipient.

Q: What is your background?

A: I have over twenty years in the Telecom/Technology industry with companies such as CenturyLink and Cox.  I have been involved in both Direct and Channel sales and development. 

Q: What attracted you to the SD-WAN market?

A: SD-Wan is a huge growth market in the industry, and I really like the challenges that SD-Wan technology in general solves. 

Q: What interested you in joining the Bigleaf Networks team?

A: Initially it was that every agent I spoke with, and my peers in the Channel all stated that Bigleaf was an amazing company and that they did a great job for their partners and their clients.  Once I learned more about Bigleaf’s culture internally, technology, and messaging I knew that this was an organization that I wanted to be a part of.

Q: What is one thing you would want to know about you? 

A: My faith, and my family are the foundation for my life. 

Q: Where do you live?  

A: Phoenix, AZ 

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do besides work?  

A: Spend time with my family, and watch and play sports, notably basketball and football.
