Bigleaf Networks Launches Home Office SD-WAN

New product offering enables remote workers to reliably connect to their everyday business tools

BEAVERTON, Ore., April 5, 2020 — Bigleaf Networks today launched Bigleaf Home Office, extending its popular SD-WAN platform to help enterprises address remote connectivity requirements accelerated by the covid-19 pandemic.

Based on Bigleaf’s SD-WAN technology for business sites, Bigleaf Home Office optimizes traditional home Internet setups to auto-detect and prioritize traffic most critical to online calls (VoIP/Video) and business applications over less critical traffic such as file transfers or video streaming. This means that while someone is watching Netflix or transferring files, an employee’s Zoom or Teams call remains uninterrupted and is given the performance it requires. A streamlined installation process allows everyone from highly technical to not-technical people to successfully bring the service online in their homes.

“We initially rolled out Bigleaf Home Office in March as part of a no-cost program for Essential Services employees whose poor internet quality was affecting their ability to serve,” said Joel Mulkey, Bigleaf founder and CEO. “We have since helped companies across the US bring the Home Office service online and ensured their business applications performed as reliably as needed. Now, with so many more of us working from home, the need and focus of having home offices operate with the same efficiency and performance as business offices is more necessary than ever.”

In addition to making Bigleaf Home Office more broadly available, Bigleaf also announced a new, larger service package of 1000Mbps down / 100Mbps up. The new package was launched to address the needs of home users who opted for the fastest residential internet packages on the market and want to ensure they get the best connection possible for the investment they made.
