Bigleaf Q3 2026: Edge Firewall Arrives, Visibility Expands, and Branch Control Gets Simpler

As distributed businesses continue to depend on cloud applications, hybrid connectivity, wireless backup, branch security, and reliable application performance, Q3 2026 focused on bringing more visibility, control, and security into Bigleaf Cloud Connect.

This quarter, we’re excited to introduce our new stateful security and site-to-site VPN solution, Edge Firewall, along with, new site overview insights, higher-capacity Wireless Connect options, simplified provisioning workflows, and continued improvements across configuration, visibility, and user experience.

Together, these updates help make Bigleaf Cloud Connect a more complete platform for distributed branch connectivity, performance, and security.

Bigleaf Edge Firewall Is Now Available

The biggest Q3 milestone was the release of Bigleaf Edge Firewall as an add-on to Bigleaf Cloud Connect.

Edge Firewall provides integrated branch security and centralized management through the Bigleaf platform, helping businesses bring essential firewall protection and secure site-to-site VPN connectivity into the same environment they already use for intelligent internet optimization and reliability.

Key capabilities include:

  • Stateful traffic inspection and firewall protection
  • Site-to-site VPN connectivity with IPsec tunnels
  • VLAN support for network segmentation and traffic isolation
  • Traffic policies and customizable firewall rules
  • Port forwarding and NAT configuration options
  • Centralized logging for traffic and security events
  • MAC filtering policies and LAN client management controls

For distributed businesses, this is an important expansion of what Bigleaf Cloud Connect can support.

Branch locations need more than connectivity. They need protection, segmentation, secure site-to-site access, visibility, and simple management across many locations. Edge Firewall helps bring those needs into one centralized platform.

Edge Firewall is an add-on service to Bigleaf Cloud Connect and requires firmware version 1.4 or higher. For full information on Bigleaf Edge Firewall, click here.

Optimization Widgets

The new Bigleaf Optimizations Widgets shows real-time optimization activity over time, including Dynamic QoS adaptations, connectivity improvements, performance improvements, and best-path activations.

The new Uptime widget provides a clearer snapshot of how a site and each circuit are performing over time.

Stronger Site Overview Insights

Q3 brought several updates to the Site Overview experience, making it easier for administrators to understand site health and activity at a glance.

New and improved site overview capabilities included:

  • Clearer security and connectivity status
  • Firewall state
  • LAN client activity
  • VPN connection status

Together, the above two updates help administrators move beyond simply asking whether a site is online. They can now more easily see how Bigleaf is optimizing traffic, improving performance, preserving connectivity, and supporting uptime across available circuits.

Easier Site Configuration and Provisioning

Q3 also included several updates designed to make configuration simpler and more intuitive. As you know, Bigleaf is plug-and-play however we also have intuitive configuration tools to help fine-tune exactly what they prefer for a given site.

Site Provisioning now automatically creates the LAN network during site creation based on the selected IP block. That reduces manual setup steps, helps prevent provisioning mistakes, and speeds up the process of bringing new sites online.

Additionally, Configuration is now a top-level tab in Single Site view, with dedicated sub-tabs for common settings such as circuits, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and Firewall. This updated navigation makes site settings easier to find and manage.

Usability improvements also included:

  • Company address fields are now optional and collapsed by default where appropriate
  • The current IP block site is displayed in Public IP settings
  • Site overview QoS widgets now show categories in priority order
  • Site overview and performance pages now default to more useful recent time ranges
  • Data tables across Bigleaf Cloud Connect adapt more effectively to smaller screens
  • An optional Circuit Usage Type column was added to the site Circuits table

These updates are all part of the same larger goal: making Bigleaf Cloud Connect easier to navigate, configure, and manage across distributed environments.

More Wireless Capacity for Larger Needs

Q3 also added support for a new 1.2 TB Verizon Wireless Connect plan, offering a higher-capacity cellular backup option for sites with greater bandwidth needs.

As more businesses rely on LTE and 5G for backup, secondary, or even primary connectivity, data capacity becomes an important part of the conversation. Higher-capacity cellular options can help support sites with heavier usage profiles, more demanding applications, or greater reliance on wireless continuity.

This update gives customers and partners another option when designing resilient connectivity strategies for distributed sites.

A More Complete Branch Connectivity Platform

Q3 was a major quarter for Bigleaf Cloud Connect.

With Edge Firewall now available, Bigleaf has expanded beyond intelligent internet optimization and reliability into integrated branch security and site-to-site VPN connectivity.

At the same time, new optimization and uptime widgets provide clearer insight into how Bigleaf is optimizing network performance. Site configuration and provisioning workflows are easier to manage. Wireless Connect options continue to expand. And ongoing bug fixes and user experience improvements continue to refine the platform.

Together, these updates support a more complete approach to distributed branch networking.

Branches need applications to perform. They need secure connectivity, reliable failover and continuity, visibility into what is happening across sites and circuits, and they need tools that are simple enough to manage at scale.

Bigleaf Cloud Connect continues to evolve around those needs.
